How to Read Crypto Market Activity

A practical walkthrough using the measurements and controls available in Scalpy.

Scalpy guide · 2 October 2026

1. Compare matching windows

Open Market Pulse and compare the 1M and 5M columns. Price change, trade count and turnover describe different measurements; use the same window when comparing rows.

2. Distinguish activity from direction

A rise in trade count can accompany buying, selling or two-sided turnover. A high volume does not alone indicate accumulation. NATR describes normalized volatility, not the direction of a forecast.

3. Investigate the source

Check the venue, market type and data status. Use the chart or Screener to inspect structure, and Volumes for visible resting orders. A thin or partial feed can change comparisons.
